Welcome to our Volunteer Coordinator, Heather McClure!

Heather brings a deep passion for connecting people with meaningful opportunities to serve to Alongside Families. As the Volunteer Coordinator, Heather will guide prospective volunteers through the entire approval process, from application to becoming part of the Alongside volunteer family. In addition, Heather will be expanding how we serve volunteers in exciting ways, including by strengthening our volunteer appreciation and engagement rhythms, and by coordinating events.  

A graduate of Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) with a B.S. in Economics and Finance, Heather has extensive experience in nonprofit leadership. She has served in organizations addressing homelessness and hunger, as well as pregnancy center ministries, specializing in community relations, advancement, and volunteer engagement.

Heather is committed to equipping others to live out their faith in practical ways. She lives in south Charlotte with her husband and two sons, and her family is part of The LIFT at First Baptist Church of Indian Trail.
