Parents reach out to us for situations such as

  • a parent needing to be hospitalized
  • a parent needing to stabilize their mental/emotional health
  • feeling overwhelmed and needing supportive community
  • experiencing homelessness or unemployment
  • needing temporary child care support after leaving a domestic violence relationship

We want you to know

Our Goal is to ALWAYS reunify you and your children. We believe that families belong together.

You maintain full custody of your child and can request that they come home to you whenever you wish.

We all need support from others. We're here to support, not to judge.

We keep parents closely connected to their child(ren) during hosting through visits, texts, FaceTime, and phone calls.

Hosting length is based on your need: from a couple of days to several months.

We're here for you too-- not only for your children. A Parent Ally volunteer will meet with you to support you toward your goals for your family, and caring volunteers will be there to cheer you on and offer friendship.

Making sure your child is safe is our top priority

Host Families are volunteers who believe in family preservation and want to love their neighbors. They serve without compensation. Our Host Families are thoroughly screened, including:

  • a family application
  • a Home Evaluation and home safety checklist
  • fingerprinting and background checks
  • character references
  • a family interview
  • training

Host Families are supported by a Family Coach who will make sure your child is well cared-for.
