The Alongside Families Approach

During difficult times, parents without a support system may be temporarily unable to provide a safe home for their children. Children may eventually be removed from their homes and placed in the child welfare system if their parents are not given the support they need.

Alongside Families is a collaboration among area churches, volunteers, and our professional staff team designed to give families a network of support.

We provide safe, loving homes where parents may voluntarily have their children cared for while they get back on their feet. Volunteer Host Families, recruited through the local church, provide a welcoming home where children can temporarily stay. A Parent Ally volunteer comes alongside the parent(s), giving them support and mentorship toward their goals.

Through our dedicated churches and volunteers, we deflect children from the foster care system and stabilize families within community.
