Alongside Families exists to connect isolated families in the Carolinas to local church communities that champion family preservation and physical, spiritual, and emotional thriving.
Families are being broken apart in our community. When a parent who is isolated faces a crisis such as hospitalization or homelessness, their child may enter the foster care system simply because the family lacks a safety net of support.
A proven church-led, volunteer-driven, professionally-supported model that provides a dignifying way for parents to ask for and get help before abuse or neglect ever occurs, preventing a child from unnecessarily entering foster care during a family crisis.
We provide safe, loving homes with volunteer Host Families in partner churches where parents may have their children cared for temporarily while seeking to restore stability in their lives.

Our team of staff, partner churches, and volunteers have been serving in family preservation since 2017. We began our ministry in Charlotte, NC as a chapter of a national organization. In 2021, we became a separate nonprofit with the benefit of local governance and management of funds, and the ability to tailor our programs to the needs of our community.
