We are thrilled to have Angellica join our Charlotte staff team as our Support Line Coordinator! Angellica will oversee and facilitate the intake process of our families in need who reach out to Alongside Families. She will also be building a team of Support Line volunteers in the coming months to serve as first responders on our Support Line. She will be making sure that the entire intake process runs smoothly for our volunteers and families that we are serving.
Here's an introduction from Angellica to all of you in our Alongside Families family!
"Hello! I'm Angellica Williams. I'm from Pennsylvania but recently moved to Charlotte, NC with my family. My husband, Daryle, and I have a beautiful, blended family of 6 children-- 2 boys and 4 girls.
I have always had a heart for youth. In my middle and high school years, I wrote plays and organized activities for my community. In 2014, I founded and began directing a school-based youth mentoring program in Pennsylvania called Royal Gathering. I brought Royal Gathering with me in Charlotte and has implemented the program at a local CMS middle school for the last 2 school years. In addition to serving on the Alongside Families staff team and running my mentoring program, I have over 25 years of experience in the cosmetology industry, specializing in braids and natural styles. I was drawn to Alongside Families because the Alongside Families mission resonated with my personal life journey. Upon learning about the available position with Alongside Families, I jumped for the opportunity to help others who have been in a place I am familiar with.
I attend church at Grace Church Charlotte where I serve as a musician on the praise and worship team and on the prayer team. I also enjoy laughing and playing with my children, folding clothes, and relaxing with my husband."
