Meet Elizabeth

April 2, 2024

We are thrilled to have Elizabeth Sutorius Saunders join our Asheville staff team as Intake Coordinator.  Elizabeth will be responsible for oversight of the family intake process.  She will address requests for support, learn more about a family’s story, and then facilitate meetings and agreements between requesting families and volunteers.

Here’s an introduction from Elizabeth to all of you in our Alongside Families family!

I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with families as the Intake Coordinator in Asheville. I have lived experience with family brokenness, complicated grief, and complex trauma. I am grateful to God for cultivating in me the attributes of resilience and compassion, and in bringing me peace, joy, and restoration throughout a lifetime of challenging circumstances. I am delighted to share the good news of hope and healing found only in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to disciple other women, empowering them to grow in their faith.

Throughout my career, I have been called to education, primarily in Workforce and Career Development and have been engaged in designing and facilitating training, and in coaching for success in planning for college and career. I had the honor and privilege of homeschooling my son from second grade through high school.

My personal mission statement, or my WHY, is as follows:  I am passionate about empowering others to discern their purpose, gifts and skills, to develop themselves professionally and personally, and to become the best version of themselves they can in service of others to God’s glory.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in business from Mount Olive College majoring in (Human Resources) Management and Organizational Development and have graduate hours in Career Development and Adult Education.

As a member of Trinity of Fairview Church, I enjoy serving in the Wellness Center leading in the GriefShare Ministry and providing Life and Wellness Coaching for women in all stages of life. I have in-depth training and experience in healing prayer ministry and over two years of seminary-level intensive Bible study.

A Carolina Girl by birth, I have been blessed to call the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina my home for most of the past 25 years. I love spending time with my son Christopher, and my Grand-dog Bear, hiking to waterfalls, and hanging out with my sisters-in-Christ sharing “God’s Glory Stories” and making a joyful noise to the Lord through Praise and Worship.

Welcome to the team, Elizabeth!
