Meet Damita

February 22nd, 2022

We are thrilled to have Damita Privott join our Charlotte staff team as our new Family Care Manager! Damita will oversee all aspects of our family care services, including supporting, supervising, and equipping Alongside Families Parent Allies and Family Coaches. We're excited to have her on board to grow and strengthen our ministry.

Here's an introduction from Damita to all of you in our Alongside Families family!

"Hello, everyone! My name is Damita J. Privott. I hail from the state of Connecticut, but recently moved back to Charlotte, NC where I was born. I have one adult daughter, two wonderful adult bonus children, one beautiful granddaughter, and a grandson on the way. I am married to Ricky Privott, who is my best friend and soul mate.

I have worked in the human service field for over thirty years. I have been blessed to work in various sectors, including working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges, and with women struggling with substance abuse and addiction. I have had the opportunity to be the voice for many who couldn’t speak for themselves. I was the lead investigator for our agency for investigating allegations of abuse or neglect against the individuals who received her services. I feel strongly that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and bring that passion and compassion to serving families through Alongside Families. Having been a single mother myself, I can relate to the struggles that single parents face. I want to do my part to help mothers succeed and have hope.

I am a proud graduate of Springfield College, where I graduated with a 4.0 Summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services. I am also a licensed evangelist through the Church of God in Christ. I believe my calling is to go out and make disciplines.

I love spending time with family, traveling, and exercise. I am grateful to remain connected virtually with my home church in Connecticut until my husband and I find a home church here in Charlotte. Staying connected keeps us rooted in the word of God."

Welcome to the team, Damita!
